Unto Their Majesties, Cellach Il and Vukasin Il, Their
Highnesses, Alric and Katherine, Their Excellencies Ulfr and Odile, Baron and
Baroness of Sternfeld, Mistress Moira MacGillavrey, Seneschal of Sternfeld, and
Her Excellency Hannah Schreiber, Group Transition Officer, do we, Sir Odo von
Atzinger and Master Lisabetta von Atzinger send our greetings and salutations;
We do by these words declare our intent to place our names
before Crown and populace as candidates to the positions of Baron and Baroness
of Sternfeld. I hope that You and the populace of the Barony will find us
worthy to serve. To assist in this momentous decision, we would like to share
with our aspirations, qualifications, and awards within the Society. We both
have a passion for service and a great love for our Kingdom. As Baron and
Baroness, we would dedicate our service to the growth of the Barony and the
support and recognition of its populace.
Lisabetta recently attended the Barony's demo for the Oaks
Academy, which was focused on combat. At that time, she was inspired by the
rapt attention of the attending fourth graders. One little girl enthused that
she wanted to join us. A common joke about Sternfeld is that there is something
in the water that makes it a Barony of fertility, since there are so many
children among our populace. Despite the number of children in Sternfeld, there
were no children from the Barony in attendance at the demo. We would like to
see the youth combat and rapier program in Sternfeld grow so that next year's
demo will be able to highlight the ability of children to be involved in the
Society.
We are aware that members experience burnout when their
participation and deeds go unnoticed and unrecognized. As Baron and Baroness,
we would serve as liaison between the populace of Sternfeld, the Kingdom, and
the Crown and spread the word about Sternfeld's great works. We would recognize
the Barony's members at Baronial Couft, send recommendations to the Crown for
Kingdom-level awards and esteem, and engage other Territorial Barons and
Baronesses in discussions about the strengths of our Barony during our busy
event schedule. Over the past year, we visited every region of the Kingdom.
Lisabetta also attended Aedult Swim in Aethelmearc and the East Kingdom's Fall
Crown. On the date of this letter's composition, Odo was on his way to Gulf
Wars. As representatives of Sternfeld, we would commit to maintain and
hopefully improve our level of involvement, acting as avid advocates for our
members. In addition to our active event schedule, we have been residents of
three of the Kingdom's regions. This has helped us gain a broad perspective on
the Kingdom and relationships with peers in all of the Orders. Should any
member of the Sternfeld populace need advice in an area that is not our
expertise, we can provide support by connecting that individual to a relevant
mentor.
Odo has been active within the Society for 30 years. He
began his activity in Fenix where he served as Group Exchequer, in which role
he helped establish policies in place today. He also assisted in the transition
process between Shire and Barony. He served as event steward for the first
Tournament of Chivalry in the Middle Kingdom, an event which he is pleased has
grown to become a traditional event. He then moved to Cynnabar, where he served
as Group Knight Marshal, in which role he aided the group in acquiring loaner
heavy and rapier armor. Odo returned to Fenix in 2008 and served there as
Knight's Marshal, Group Rapier Marshal, and Baronial Armored Champion. After
stepping down as Group Rapier Marshal, Odo became South Oaken Regional Rapier
Marshal. After moving to the local area in 2017, Odo has mentored armored
combatants. Odo served as XO of the Unbelted Champions team in 2013, supporting
the team to victory, and served as Captain the following year. He was also
honored to stand as a Rapier Champion at Pennsic beside Lisabetta in 2013. Odo
was elevated to the Order of the Chivalry as a ICnight of the Society in 2014.
He was made a Court Baron in 2016. He is a Companion of the Order of the Gold
Mace, Companion of the Order of the Cavendish Knot, Recipient of the Purple
Fret, Recipient of the Award of Arms, and Recipient of the Doe's Grace.
Lisabetta has been active within the Society for 17 years.
As a resident of Constellation since January 2017, Lisabetta became Group
Rapier Marshal of Sternfeld's neighbor, the Shire of Qal' at Ja'far, to provide
another local option for rapier practice. For the previous nine years, she
lived in Fenix where she served as Baronial Seneschal from 2012 to 2014,
supporting the formation of a new Shire that the Barony sponsored. She was also
Kingdom Rapier Marshal, South Oaken Regional Rapier Marshal, and Deputy Kingdom
Rapier Marshal while living in South Oaken. She was honored to stand as a
Rapier Champion at Pennsic in 2013 beside Odo as a member of the melee team and
has othelwise served on the Pennsic Rapier Champion Team in 2016, 2012, 2011,
and 2009. Lisabetta began her SCA journey in Cynnabar, where she served as
Group Rapier Marshal and Marshal in Training. She was instrumental in starting
the monthly tournaments that grew to an annual event, Grand Day of Tournaments.
Lisabetta was elevated to the Order of Defense at Simple Day in 2017. She was
added to the Order of the Royal Vanguard in 2016 for her service as King
Cameron Il and Queen Amalie Il's Rapier Champion. She is a Companion of the
Order of the Bronze Ring, Recipient of the Purple Fret, Companion of the Order
of the Cavendish Knot, Recipient of the Award of Arms, and Recipient of the
Sapphire.
We thank You for the consideration and look forward to the
opportunity presented by this polling process.
Yours in
service,
